ASHISH TAGRA
- Founder & CEO, A Good Life
- New Delhi, India | 15+ years of professional experience
Ashish Tagra is the Founder and CEO of A Good Life, a design-led furniture brand focused on mindful living, multifunctionality, and sustainability. Based in New Delhi, India, he brings over 15 years of hands-on experience across branding, design strategy, and product creation.
Before founding A Good Life, Ashish ran Ashish Tagra Design Studio, where he worked closely with brands and corporates on communication design, websites, and design-led strategies. He later went on to build and scale a fashion label, Aharin, making A Good Life his second entrepreneurial venture.
Why A Good Life Exists
A Good Life was born out of two very real problems Ashish noticed early on.
The first was environmental. Large quantities of industrial pinewood were being discarded as waste. Ashish saw an opportunity to recycle this material and turn it into something lasting and meaningful.
The second was deeply personal. Most urban homes are small, yet the furniture available is bulky, inflexible, and rooted in traditional formats that no longer serve modern living. Ashish wanted to design furniture that was sleek, sturdy, easy to assemble, and easy to move especially for people who shift homes often.
The result was Nordic-inspired, multifunctional furniture designed to fit beautifully into compact spaces without asking people to compromise on how they live.
A Personal Origin Story
Ashish grew up in a 16 ft x 30 ft studio apartment. Space was limited, but intention was not. Watching his father methodically experiment, organise, and reimagine their home left a lasting impression. Over time, their small house became calm, functional, and complete. Nothing was excess. Everything had a place.
That experience shaped Ashish’s belief that a home, regardless of size, can be a sanctuary. This belief sits at the heart of A Good Life.
What He Is Known For
Ashish is known for his strong aesthetic sense, deep understanding of audience mindset, and practical design knowledge gained through real-world experience. His expertise spans:
- Branding and design strategy
- Multifunctional furniture design
- Sustainable material use
- Building purpose-driven brands
Over the years, he has experimented, failed, refined, and simplified. A Good Life began with sofa-cum-beds, moved through smaller décor products, and eventually evolved into a focused range of beds, mirrors, cabinets, consoles, and side tables.
Credibility and Recognition
Ashish has been invited by EPCH (Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts) as a spokesperson at an exhibition, representing young entrepreneurs working on sustainable brands. Earlier in his career, he was also invited to speak on textile design at a reputed design event.
Philosophy and Values
Ashish believes the furniture and home décor industry often overlooks the emotional and energetic impact of physical spaces. Many products are built only for sales, not for the lives people actually live.
He refuses to compromise on quality, authenticity, and intent. For him, good work is any work done with honest purpose.
Through A Good Life, his aim is not just to furnish homes, but to gently heal, inspire, and offer people a quieter, more thoughtful way to live. He believes success is not only about growth or awards, but about people feeling at peace with the choices they make for their homes.
Beyond Work
Ashish is deeply interested in the human layer of life. He values consistency, learning, and staying true to his core purpose. He enjoys building with creative people who carry spiritual depth and self-awareness.
One thing that doesn’t show up on LinkedIn: he considers himself a lifelong student.
Looking Ahead
In the next five years, Ashish envisions A Good Life being recognised by leading interior design firms, acknowledged for its sustainable approach, and known for quietly disrupting the market in a meaningful way. Above all, he wants customers to feel genuinely happy and confident about choosing the brand.
